Thanks to Soky Happenings for the recent coverage of The Black Shades and a big personal thank you to Jana Sublett, who did a fantastic job with the article. We’re still holding that freebie show-go for you. (FRIDAY at ROCKY’S w/ two great out-of-towners, just sayin’!) Ya oughta come out soon!

Monday, June 28th - Shared the stage with some great bands from Nashville, Owensboro, and some hometown boyz from Bowling Green. Sponsored by BMI, this show was actually put together by our good buddy Don Ross.

We were REALLY pleased with our set. Most everyone at the venue had seemed to be sitting down and watching the bands and a crowd gathered on their feet for us! Woot.
It was an awesome night and we were so happy with the crowd response and the event as a whole.

Oh and by the way, I want to mention that post-show, we drove all the way up I-65 nearly to Goodlettsville before Aaron and Jerry realized they left their bar tabs open and we had to turn around. Really responsible, guys. Really.

The Black Shades played at the delightful Creme Coffee House in Owensboro with the likes of local favorite, Why They Came. Unfortunately, my camera died before I could snap a ton of goodies, but here’s one from the show. Also, we’ll be posting video soon from Owensboro’s Indie Connection that came out to tape the event.

Turn Me On Electricity is an up-tempo, oh-so-sexy track. Dance pop with some dirt. How would you describe it?
The rest of The Black Shades EP Turn Me On, Electric is available for a listen on their MYSPACE. If you’re interested in ordering a copy of the EP, they are running a limited edition set to sell at their show on April 8th, or you can reserve a copy by mail by sending us an email to wearetheblackshades@gmail.com.
Feel free to share and enjoy.
